Sanabil Alkhayr Association – Djibouti Women’s Branch Specialised Training Project in Tailoring, Embroidery and Handicrafts Developing Women’s Skills, Strengthening Production and Creating Opportunities for Women’s Economic Empowerment As part of our ongoing efforts at Sanabil Alkhayr Association to develop our women’s training programmes and enhance women’s participation in production and skilled work, our Women’s Branch has launched a new specialised training project in tailoring, embroidery and handicrafts. This project marks an advanced stage in the training programme we have delivered since the Association’s establishment. The project builds on the first phase of training, which equipped women and girls with basic sewing skills. This new phase focuses on developing the capabilities of trainees who successfully completed the initial training, helping them progress to a more specialised and professional level so they can produce a variety of garments and products that meet local market requirements. Through this project, we aim to strengthen trainees’ technical and production skills and prepare them to respond to the needs of educational institutions and other organisations, particularly through the production of different types of school uniforms, alongside women’s clothing, children’s clothing and other products that meet community needs. The launch of this new phase represents an important step from basic training towards specialised training and practical production. It will help expand employment opportunities, strengthen the capabilities of women and girls, and open new pathways for their active participation in economic life and pursuit of financial independence. Through this project, we reaffirm our commitment to continuously developing our women’s empowerment programmes, enhancing training quality and aligning training outcomes with market needs. These efforts support the sustainability of our training and production initiatives and strengthen women’s role in community development. Sanabil Alkhayr Association – Women’s Branch
